Scott Cookson is a transactional attorney practicing in the areas of commercial real estate, local government, land use, tenant and franchisee leasing and escheat compliance law. A golf professional prior to attending law school, Scott also specializes in representing clients in resort, private club and golf course development matters. Scott gained extensive experience handling a wide variety of legal matters when he served as in-house counsel of the Fortune 500 company, KB Home, one of the nation’s largest home builders. While with KB Home, Scott was responsible for overseeing all legal matters throughout the southeast. In addition, Scott’s experience includes extensive transactional work with two national law firms in their Orlando offices. While there, he represented a variety of clients, including home builders, real estate developers, commercial landlords, tenants and local governments. Scott presently serves as City Attorney for the City of Ocoee, Florida.
