Vance Realty Group of Orlando, a powerhouse in central Florida real-estate brokerage, was recently purchased by Plantation-based Prudential Florida WCI Realty. ShuffieldLowman client, Barbara Vance, founded the local brokerage in 1996. Last year, the company posted $214.3 million in sales. Past deals have included the $31 million sale of land in Polk County to ABD Development Co., which is now developing the Providence community there.
The firm represented Vance throughout the transaction, providing counsel to her and her husband, Arnold Matyas, a commercial real estate broker.
According to ShuffieldLowman shareholder and supervising attorney, Greg Meier, The stunning success of Barbara Vance and her team of professionals is to be applauded. Vance will work with Prudential Florida WCI Realty as a sales consultant. Matyas will head the brokerage's commercial division.

Working on behalf of Aluria Software, ShuffieldLowman was recently instrumental in structuring a lucrative licensing agreement of spyware removal software created by Aluria to Internet mogul America Online.
ShuffieldLowman not only handled the transaction, but was instrumental in providing a full range of intellectual property services for the original software and the on-going business. Aluria Software plans several similar licensing agreements in the near future.
